Michael Ziegler is President and Chief Executive Officer of PRIDE Industries, a leading provider of business outsourcing solutions and America’s largest non-profit employer of people with disabilities. PRIDE offers comprehensive services in the following areas: Integrated Facilities Services, Manufacturing & Logistics Services, and Rehabilitation Services.
Since joining PRIDE in 1983, Ziegler has led the transformation of the company from a non-profit organization dependent on federal and state funds to a self-sufficient business enterprise providing services to Fortune 500 companies and government customers nationwide. During Ziegler’s tenure, PRIDE has grown from a small organization–65 employees and a $250,000 budget–to the Sacramento region’s third largest manufacturing and service company with more than 5,600 employees and $290+ million in annual revenue.
In 2011, Michael Ziegler was chosen by the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber as “Sacramentan of the Year.” In 2006, Ziegler was recognized by the American Heart Association with their “Heart of the Community” Award for leadership and generosity in the community. In 2005, Michael was recognized by Junior Achievement of Sacramento as a Sacramento Area Business Hall of Fame Laureate. In 2002, Ziegler received the “Exemplary Leader Award” from the American Leadership Forum. In 1999, Ziegler and PRIDE Industries received the “Humanitarian Award” from the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Sacramento. Ziegler was also chosen one of “Sacramento’s 10 Most Influential Business People” by a Sacramento Bee poll of 100 successful Sacramento business people. In 1997, he was awarded the Placer County Economic Development Board “Private Sector Award.” In 1994, the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce chose him as “Businessman of the Year,” and in 1992 he received the “Not-for Profit Entrepreneur of the Year Award” from Ernst & Young and Inc. Magazine.
Ziegler attended San Francisco State University and completed his MBA at the University of San Francisco. He is a graduate of the Stanford Small Business Executive Program. Ziegler received an Honorary Ph.D. from Golden Gate University.
