Sandy Sharon, RN, MBA, is Senior Vice President and Area Manager for Kaiser Foundation Hospitals/ Health Plan in Sacramento. She has responsibility for all local health plan and hospital services at the 287-bed Sacramento Medical Center and, partnering with physician leaders, is responsible for the health care of more than 232,000 Kaiser Permanente members.
Kaiser Permanente insures about one-third of the Greater Sacramento region’s population and has nearly 12,000 employees and more than 1,540 physicians. The not-forprofit organization is the largest care provider in the region.
Sharon joined Kaiser Permanente in 1997 and has nearly 30 years of nursing and health care management experience. She started as the Director of Adult Care Services for the greater Sacramento area. After helping to open the Roseville Medical Center in 1998, she served as the Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Interim Senior Vice President/Area Manager at Roseville.
Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Sharon worked for 20 years at Sutter Health in a variety of roles including Nurse Manager in the Emergency Department and ICU; Nursing Administration Manager; and Nursing System Coordinator.
Sharon has a Masters in Business Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and an Associate of Arts in Nursing.
She has served on the Board of Directors for the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, Zafia House charity, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
